My front windshield of my car is cracked?

I was on the highway and there was a dump truck that was raining little pebbles from the back of it on to my car. There are 4 chips and one crack that is cracked four ways and is the size of a half dollar. I took the license plate down and called the company and they sent some one out to take a look. It looks like they are going to fix it but she mentioned that there ways to repair it but I want it replaced. I don't want a band-aide for my window I want it the way it was before it happened. Im just wondering if anyone has gone threw it and there advise on what direction and action to take. Thank you in advance. Also I was wondering if anyone has had there window repaired and how good it held up.
